God has blessed me with a great family, a beautiful and smart wife, two healthy and grateful boys, and thousands of friends.  My life is full and unforgettable.  Our oldest boy asked why I sell real estate.  My answer:  “Because people need help”. This answer surprised and impressed my son but it only clarified my goal:  To make every client a Raving Fan.  California real estate law is complex and dangerous. My job is to protect you in your sale and purchase decisions.  I take that serious.

Foreign Challenges
It was the very first time I had ever set foot outside of the U.S.A. When I boarded an airplane headed for Holland, it was to spend a year as an Exchange Student — completely immersed in a different culture with an unfamiliar language. I didn’t know I was embarking on one of the greatest adventures of my life.  I did know it would not be easy. But as I learned, those challenges were just half of the fun. The other half would be the process of overcoming them. That overseas trip was the first step towards an approach to life and to work that has brought me considerable success over the years.

A Lasting Impact
My Dutch mother was a kindergarten teacher, and it was she who developed the step-by-step process that enabled me to quickly master the Dutch language. It began with simply labeling all the familiar household objects with their Dutch equivalent, then progressed through sentence structure to nightly 2-hour drills. That year spent overseas would have a lasting impact on my life. I now have a second family, a Dutch family, and learned that people were much more alike than different. I gained an ability to communicate with a wide variety of personalities and learned just how adaptable and flexible I could be under “foreign” circumstances. But most important, I discovered that I really enjoyed finding new and creative ways to meet a challenge.

An Impressive Record
I excelled in school and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where I found an outlet for his problem-solving skills in information technology. I then embarked on a successful tenure in systems architecture and development. I rose from a Systems Engineer to a Business Architect, directing the definition, integration and management of business processes for high tech companies as diverse as EDS and Intel. For me, it was work both challenging and fun because it involved people as much as it did systems.  A very important part of the process is having a team that’s highly motivated. I really enjoyed working with and managing teams of people to design and implement effective systems.
